About Me

Well, the story began over a decade ago when I began a career in emergency services in Simcoe County. It didn’t take long before I fell in love with it here… the hills, lakes, forests, awesome views and most importantly, the people. When my wife and I bought a home and settled in Orillia in early 2021, it felt like the right time to start piecing things together and building on a concept that I’ve dreamt of for years. 

The Brand

A lover of all things local, I wanted to create a brand that represents this place and the people who live, work and play here. Our name, County Commons Co., stems from County -  of Simcoe of course, and Commons which is defined as “land or resources belonging to or affecting the whole of a community.” Seemed fitting as this land and its amazing communities are exactly what we represent. 

The Values

Community, nature and the environment are things that we strongly value here. That’s why all of our apparel & accessories are made in Canada using organic cotton and recycled polyester. This offers both comfort and quality, a smaller carbon footprint and the peace of mind knowing that everyone is treated fairly throughout the process.

The Dream

The values that I formed this brand around are held close to my heart. I wear our clothes almost every day and proudly support the local businesses that we showcase in our “Local Love” line and all small businesses countrywide. We give back to our community’s local charities because I truly believe that we are stronger together and that we have more in common with one another than we may know. 

My hope is that you love this land AND this brand as much as I do and that through togetherness and local pride, we can build something really beautiful.
